The cost depends on attic size, current insulation depth, access, ventilation work and whether removal or air sealing is required. Earthwise provides a free on-site assessment and a clear recommendation before work begins.
What R-value should an Ontario attic have?
Many Ontario attic upgrades target R60 for strong year-round performance. Rebate programs may use a different minimum threshold, so we measure the existing attic and explain the most appropriate target for your home.
Can new insulation be added over old insulation?
Often, yes. If the existing material is clean, dry and safe, a top-up may be the most practical option. Wet, mouldy, pest-contaminated or otherwise compromised insulation should be removed first.
How long does an attic insulation job take?
Most residential attic top-ups are completed in one visit. Removal, mould remediation, complex air sealing or ventilation corrections can add time. Your estimate will include the expected scope and timing.
Are attic insulation rebates available in Ontario?
